Lightbulb were 2007 & 2008 the best years for hardcore/punk/emo?

i was wondering if someone has this same feeling of nostalgia about the scene back in 2007 & 2008.
i list some bands that i discovered back then. some of them released an album or two after this, but none compared to their previsious ones.

against me
311
alien ant farm
alkaline trio
less than jake
much the same
none more black
over it
reel big fish
rx bandits
street light manifesto
wilhelm scream
zebrahead

after those years my playlists had hardly evolved, containg the same old classic p/hc/e bands as well, like blink, sum41, yellowcard, new found glory, millencolin, etc, and even some alternative rocks, like incubus.

You may have discovered them in 07-08, but at least some of those bands were probably WELL past their due date by then.

yeah, that i know, but i have this feeling that ever since there were no matching bands. i am aware that it might have to do with my age (those were my golden years) but i've been looking for other bands to follow and there are few like them.
what were the best years for you?

I don't listen to as much pure hardcore, but I've been listening to a ****load of early metalcore bands, and late nineties is what I keep coming back to.

Listening to Alien Ant Farm is a weird experience for me now. I used to like a single or two with them back in time. That "just like the movies" song and their cover of Billie Jean. But I also absolutely can't stand the band now and find them corny like few other things. Nostalgia + revulsion
