Question Converge:Skramz or Metalcore?

Oh, Converge:Sheer ****ing satanic. But damn do I really enjoy their music; even if it is a whole bunch of loud disturbing noise.

But anyways, people say these guys are Metalcore/Mathcore..? I don't hear that at all. I'm pretty sure these guys are ****ing skramz or emoviolence right?

For anyone who's familiar with them, what do you think?

What makes you call them skramz? Do you not listen to metalcore in general? Cause there are plenty of bands they sound more like than Pg.99.

I'd say like, Petitioning the Empty Sky, maybe. But otherwise no. Fullblown metallic hardcore all the way.

I'll check that dictionary, but in the meantime I'm impressed - as is everyone else in the world - by your eloquence, obvious accomplishments and success, and the evidence of your blazingly high intelligence.

Dude. You know you can find some bros with fitted caps at this band's show.

Only ever heard of their first album, and if that's anything to go by then I'd say Converge is Metalcore
They just don't have that intentional overt emotional twinge that bands like pg.99 have
Like, listen to Document 7 and then Halo In The Haystack back to back and you'd hear a difference
But, like I said, that's the only album of theirs that I'm familiar with, so I could be dead wrong

Go listen to Petitioning the Empty Sky and Jane Doe, their second and third albums, to listen to Converge in the form that metalcore fans know them. Both also far superior albums.

Petitioning the Empty Sky

Jane Doe

Defenitely metalcore. Though, aimless arrow sounds like a post-hardcore song, I wouldn't be surprised if they were influenced by some screamo.

I'd say quite a few of their songs are very post-hardcore. Surprised it doesn't get more secondary ratings of that on RYM.

Well metalcore started as a genre of hardcore, so it shouldn't be surprising if some of the more experimental bands are heavily influenced by post-hardcore.
