Some person on another forum defined emo pretty well. Its on the ezboards
Emo: Divide it into waves. First wave: Indian Summer, Moss Icon, Hoover, Still Life, Navio Forge, etc. Second Wave: Cap'n Jazz, Sunny Day Real Estate, Mineral, etc. Third Wave: Thursday, Senses Fail, etc. |

Actually, wow I was just about to say, Frost; How do you feel about Cap'n Jazz and Sunny Day Real Estate, or the 'Second Wave' in the above statement? Personally, as the modern definition, I think the word emo is totally useless to us. Its reminds me of the early nineties when people where trying to define Grunge and throwing bands in with other bands that really have nothing to do with each other. The truth is, all good music is emotional, period. That doesn't mean that its emo, by any circumstance. Jazz is emotional, the Blues is emotional, etc. So really, that definition has no merit. I think the only people who actually want to hold on to the word emo, are the kids with dyed black hair, really tight shirts, arm bands, and who use it as a way of being popular. If you respect yourself and respect music, just stop using the word, please.
