Default difference between post-hardcore and screamo

hi

Sometimes its hard for me to tell the difference between these two genres.

for example this: watch?v=3zgw04Lrius

they say this is post-hardcore. For me this sounds more like screamo, but it's pretty slow. Is this the reason? afaik screamo is pretty fast just like hardcore-punk.

Or is it both?

thank you!

(i just want to learn more about those genres. That's why I'm asking.)

I'm not an expert on screamo, so I'm just going to post a couple of links:

Screamo's sort of a subgenre of post-hardcore. Like hardcore is a subgenre of punk.

Some screamo takes more influence from post-hardcore, so you'll have more intricate song structures and instrumentation. Weird time signatures. Build-ups, etc. Some screamo takes more from hardcore, just blasts through at breakneck pace with pretty straightforward instrumentation and structure. Plenty of bands do a bit of both.

Post-hardcore tends to be more bands like Fugazi, Jawbox, Bear vs. Shark, Pile. Vocals are generally more yelly or sung.

Screamo is more bands like Orchid, maybe Rights of Spring, Indian Summer (who definitely take a huge influence from Post-HC), Swing Kids...

Those are the heavy hitting, big names of the genres.

/thread. Oh, and I'd like to add Screamo is usually more aggresive than regular emo, hence the scream part.
