Default Gray Matter

GM were one of my favorite Dischord bands. They sound just like Rites of Spring, but don't fret, they're still their own. Frantic bass licks litter their songs, and their albums feature somewhat "better" recording than RoS, imo.

There is already a Gray Matter thread but it didn't get very far.

I never really thought of them as sounding just like Rites of Spring myself, probably because Guy Picciatto's voice is so distinctive (and I don't really like it).

Food for Thought is a classic Dischord album.

I haven't heard them for years but I downloaded some of their stuff a few weeks ago (while listening to Rites of Spring, strangely enough, although I agree they don't sound too alike) and I'm looking forward to hearing it again. Years and years ago, they were a big favourite of mine.

Gray Matter is nice, but for bands of that time period/style i think now i much prefer One Last Wish, After Words, Flowers of Discipline, etc.
