Acoustic "Emo".

Anyone else love this? Bands like Spill Canvas, Lyndsay Diaries, Abreaction, American Football, etc.

I was wondering if anyone has any band recommendations?

Trauma 06-21-2005 11:37 AM

STILL LIFE.

Some songs, that is.
I forget which album it is that they do mostly acoustic pieces.
check out their website, look it up on google.

SATCHMO 06-21-2005 11:42 AM

Violent Femmes - the original acoustic emo

somethingisrunningonempty 06-21-2005 11:58 AM

Obviously Elliott Smith.

I love American Football too. Try Dallas Green. He's amazing. Uhh, some Onelinedrawing is acoustic. Try The Peppermint Confederacy, Neutral Milk Hotel. Whatev.

It's not emo, but most of the other stuff in this thread isn't either so I guess nobody will mind.

daytonasurf 07-06-2005 07:41 PM

taking back sundayISH is what I'm looking for actually. Something like spill canvas or dashboard acoustic.

somethingisrunningonempty 07-07-2005 12:49 PM

Check Out These Guys

Check out my acoustic(ish) duo: www.purevolume.com/aredlightloveaffair The song Growing Pains might be kinda what you're looking for. We have a bit of a Bright Eyes influence.

partisan 07-07-2005 01:18 PM

Thanks for the feedback Partisan. Keep checking the site, there will be new songs up there soon. I just finished recording an 11 song demo on tape, it should be on CD soon.

daytonasurf 08-12-2005 12:40 PM

angelinaballerina 08-12-2005 03:01 PM

i really loved spill canvas' first album. the second one is good too but too bad it's not so much acoustic.

anyway, try i can make a mess like nobody's business... though its not a band, just the early november singer's solo, but it's acoustic though :)

SharksAndDanger 08-26-2005 03:03 PM

i like a few songs from spill canvas

recommendations for daytonasurf:

the juliana theory
the starting line
the honorary title
acceptance

check this out http://www.thehonorarytitle.com/everythingioncehad/

.angie. 08-26-2005 03:07 PM

The Starting Line isn't that acoustic, but they're still good. In fact, I'm listening to them now. :)

SharksAndDanger 08-26-2005 03:15 PM

well it fits the mood so i thought i'd include it anyway

<<<>>> 08-26-2005 03:16 PM

Dilute!
Go buy one of the Dilute albums. Similar to American Football and Explosions in The Sky. http://www.transmission3000.com/bands/?r=dilute.html

<<<>>> 08-26-2005 03:16 PM

wait...they aren't acoustic, nevermind.

.angie. 08-26-2005 03:25 PM

I don't even care if Circa Survive isn't acoustic. EVERYONE NEEDS TO LISTEN TO THEM!! Copeland is pretty good, also.
