Even if an emo band did have a music video, doesn't mean it has to be mainstream and go on MTV. Their music video could only be on their site & not even released.

Sometimes you can really get alot across as far as the meaning and vibe of the song using a video. But as is stated, it should be about music and the song rather than the band and the image.

true but i sometimes enjoy watching the video that goes along with the song to see if it fits. sometimes theyre a piece of crap, other times theyre pretty good. luckily, i dont have mtv so i dont have to see the same stuff on there all the time. i can download which videos i wanna see. plus theres always launch.

^ Launch is good. I don't have MTV, so I can't vouch for it, but I hear they don't play many music videos anymore.

^this is true, and yes sometimes videos help you understand the song better. i dont think that videos are important necesarily to this genre alone or any other, they are simply an added bonus.
