Why is emo so misunderstood?
Seriously.
If you ask 10 people what emo is, 9 of them will say "it's a depressed guy who hurts himself", and 1 will say "you know, bands like Black Veil Brides and My Chemical Romance". Seriously? This stereotype and misunderstanding stuff makes it REALLY hard to find real emo music! All I find is stuff like Dashboard Confessional and Cute is What We Aim For! Neither of them are emo! I'm sick of this, and I want to know WHY nobody knows what emo is. |

I have no idea either, and I never put much thought into it actually... I thought Emo was any music listen to anyone who had pitch black hair with fluorescent bangs and wore black baggy chain pants from HotTopics - apparently it's an off-shoot of DC Hardcore from the 80s.
