I see alot of posts in this forum where people say that Emo is a genre for kids who "slit their wrists and act depressed" and I just had a couple ideas on this that I would like to put forth (some more serious than others
![]() 1. If all "emo kids" slit their wrists, wouldn't emo music die because all the people who liked it (or were in bands that played it) were dead? 2. If people took the time to listen to the music they are so stereotypicly criticizing, they might realize that emo lyrics aren't all about depressed (or other mentally ill people) committing suicide. 3. I think you will find that there are many people in society who are depressed, and amazingly, they don't all listen to emo... (Wow, what a revelation...) 4. On a final point, that emo (and many other forms of music as well) is a good way for "depressed kids" to express their feelings and keep from slitting their wrists in the first place. This is just my opinion, and I'm sure that more can be added...
