^
Most who call themselves "emo" listen to post-emo...
If I went up to someone who said they were emo and said Heroin, they would say, "what???" NOT ohhh I love that band.

I think the biggest misconception is that people really give a ****

phoenixflames 05-31-2005 09:03 AM

^ Or that people know what they are talking about...

I'd Start saving green and before breathing
I have your voice on tape in a southern accent screaming at me
I was only one and we weren’t prepared for one
(I have your voice on tape in a southern accent screaming at me)
So we started saving green before breathing

Know things look lovely to you
Holding back, now and forever sweetheart
know things look lovely
longing for midnight and I’ll deny
You were walking so peculiar like you had something to hide (still so deadly) [x2]
Sweet penance for this sound-that it might explode in her hands

Bordered in a brown pigmentation
Where the element lines cut short, turned in and stopped
I've been watching rose giving in and that’s when I started savoring the sound
I was watching rose give in to it severing the ties between mother and son [x2]

Know things look lovely to you
Holding back, now and forever sweetheart
know things look lovely
longing for midnight and I’ll deny
You were walking so peculiar like you had something to hide (still so deadly) [x2]
Sweet penance for this sound-that it might explode in her hand (it might explode) [x2]

I once saw many places, I promised the world and a dozen roses. [x2]

these are the lyrics to translating the name by saosin.

now honestly do these look like they are about someone slitting their wrists? i dont think so.

it really bugs me that people have that kind of assumption about this or any other type of music genre for that matter. i mean its funny to an extent if people wanna poke fun at it but eventually it gets annoying.

phoenixflames 06-22-2005 08:30 PM

^ Just like any stereotype, not just music realated.

holdyoualways 06-22-2005 09:45 PM

yeah exactly. its the same all around.

This is a great point.

Why cant people just listen to what ever the **** they want without people constantly b1tching about genres.
