This thread just about sums up the whole 'emo scene'. Not the genre, just the scene.
Arguments about which band is emo, arguments about emo fashion, and now (newly added to the list) the emo way of life. Just listen to the music you like. Or, if youre shallow, listen to the music you dont like but everyone else does. Why should we have to listen to you protesting how TBS are emo? I for one, dont give a flying f*ck. If you want to claim youre emo, then fine, just dont tell me about it. Thank you.

Emo is just a genre of music.
Why does no one grasp this? Is it because emo is short for emotional? There's never any threads about "What are REAL reggae bands" or "What are REAL pop bands"... It just doesnt happen. Emo is just a genre of music. Just like any other genre. The only thing is, a scene, a fashion and so much else has evolved along with it... Its still a genre of music. No more.

True, true, but when noone can come to a concesus on what or who (bands) is emo, and everyone can describe the appearance of a typical emo kid, it makes you wonder if the trend is more real than the genre.

The trend is just more popular than the genre, thats all there is to it... I wouldnt care if they didnt keep coming in here to complain about which bands are emo. But they insist on it, and it gets f*cking annoying after the 98th time..
