Oh I totally agree. I have opinions about a lot of things I don't like as do we all. I think I should make the distinction that the "worst emo band" thread that was referenced in the first post I don't have an issue with. It's when someone is talking about a band and the discussion goes down in flames from the start because somone says their "stupid".

I`ve been to forums for all sorts of subjects , not just music and that sort of thing happen everywhere.

When something like that happens it`s got absolutley nothing to do with music or genres of hating a band it`s just someone trying to get attention by getting a rise out of someone.

Absolutely. I visit tons of gaming forums. Some gaming communities are 1,000 times more rabid than this. If your not one of the "cool" circle of gamers you need to find somewhere else to talk. You'll be flamed and eaten before the word go. That's why I rarely post there. They are a bunch of elitist ****wads that if you don't like the few certain titles your an idiot and deemed unworthy of an decent response. Your right, these forums are just like all the rest of the forums on the internet. Too bad, it should have been different.

im not trying to insult your genre at all, in fact i havent said one word of insult towards the music. so i suggest you get your facts straight my dear. i come on the emo forum every once and a while to try learning about some of the bands out there and see whos gaining popularity etc but all you guys do is bleat.

Music Banter. key word is banter. you know like witty rhetoric. like cunning and clever. poosibly a bit offending. Christ, quit bitching, stand up for yourselfs, and listen to whatever you want. I like MCR and Cryptopsy. The Blue Ink Rebellion and As I Lay Dying. Converge and Strike Anywhere. I am all over the place. don't care what people think about it an neither should you.

The reason people are so elitist is because they are right. but you are too. emo has evolved (or devolved some might say) either way, grow a pair and fight back. Don't be negative or childish, but use examples of why the artist you like are talented or point out why the band someone likes isn't very good.
