Powerviolence is intense, raw form of Hardcore Punk.
It is a sub-genre of Hardcore Punk.

yeah, owes as much to Grindcore as it does Hardcore.

Just start by getting the "20 Years of Dischord" box set.. can download it easy.. 3 discs of Dischord bands.. juding by those bands you will like that label.

Now, I don't really know any of the bands you listed, however, I am a fan of Minus The Bear, and I can tell you, they are most definitely not post-hardcore.
I don't like to nitpick with genres, like some users do, but they have a completely different sound, they're more experimental indie/math rock.
