the WORST emo poseur band
 

In this thread you can say which band you hate the most that some think are emo.

For me it would have to be Hawthorne Heights. I usually don't make judgments about bands before I listen to them, so I listened to "Ohio is for Lovers". It is by far one of the worst P.o.S songs I have ever heard. The guy talks about slitting wrists, but he probably doesn't even know what it is. Its just really bad an unoriginal. I hate them more than simple plan, GC, and MCR.


So... which band do YOU dislike?

Fall Out Boy. I dont understand why people class them as emo.. Theyre just annoying. They're in that 'annoying' genre... Yes, thats a genre :rolleyes:

BUT if I was going to pick the worst 'emo poseur band' (which I thought this was gonna be) Id pick My Chemical Romance. I actually have nothing against them, I enjoy listening to them, but they're really not emo.

i agree..there was always something about hawthorne Heights that annoyed the hell out of me

id go with MCR also, i dont have anything against theitr music, well, i do a bit but thats another topic, they just try too hard with the emo image.

Now i`m no emo expert but having heard this band suck every single bit of life out of Joy Divisions Love Will Tear Us Apart. I would say they are ****ness in abundence.

I`ve never been a fan of Kerrang magazine but apparently they voted this lot the worst band of all time.

maybe its that the lead singer has a lisp. lol. thrice pointed that out to me and its the most annoying thing ever.

one of my friends is CONSTANTLY listening to Hawthorne Heights. this band seriously blows.

The Get Kids Kids have constantly stated that they simply aren't emo, and they've made some great pop rock songs on Four Minute Mile.

VAMPIRE? Although they believe they aren't "emo" their fans have always classified them under that genre.

Roses Are Red does suck a wwwwhhhhoooolllleeee lot but I'm gonna jump on the bandwagon and go with Hawthorne Heights. Besides having a screamer who puts his voice through a million modifiers they aren't really original. I did like "Ohio" though...

And who cares if Gerard likes Vampires. I LOVE MCR. going to see them in a few weeks down in Norfolk bitches.

yeah they definately do. gerard will probably be bragging about his new jacket. he had just gotten a new red blazer when i saw them and i guess he thought it was pretty cool.. just a random fact but i thought it was funny

no i don't think they are From England at all. i heard something on the TV saying there from Las Vegas

their from las vegas and sound nothing like brit-pop. oh well, i can tolerate the killers, in fact, they make pretty good music. the bravery..now thats a different maaaaaaaaattteeeerr.

I personally love the killers, and I'd say they are more indi than brit pop persay but they have that techno-ey thing going on so I'm not really sure. I like 'em though.

As for the worst emo bands...... where do I begin. I'd have to say I think they all suck. I like two songs by the used and maybe 3 by finch. My chemical romance is ok just because they're style is alittle more original than most. hawthorne heights SUCKS like its their job.... I've seen them live at this place where local bands (mostly hardcore emo bands that blow) play and they sucked alot. One song, can't remember the name, was ok aside for the singing which sounds the exact same as 90% of all emo bands and like literally every band that plays at this local club. I'd have to say that local emo wannabe bands are the most annoying of all. Does anyone agree with me on this one?

hardcore/screamo/whatever you want to call it, it doesnt really matter. the word 'emo' is kind of broad... but they are still emo in one form or another and they still suck.

Right, first of all, black makeup isnt g.ay, its fecking makeup, get over it.
Secondly, there are bands a lot worse than MCR for makeup.
Thirdly, theyre not sellouts or emo.

actually one that i think is bad is good charlotte because they dress all hardcore and sing like poppy little asswholes. oh well, heh yeah goth kid, maybe you shouldnt judge people like that.... just cause you don't wear makeup
