Emo Suggestions?
So i'm not a big fan of newer Emo but i was wonderin if anyone knows some older sounding emo. Here are some bands i enjoy
Cap'n Jazz Joan of Arc Sunny Day Real Estate I'm kind of a new listener to most of this stuff so it would be great to learn of some major influences. |

I'm not an expert on the Emo genre, I've dabbled in and out of it a bit, though. Most people like Evergreen, I'm not a huge fan but they are nineties emo so might as well try them. Also Five-O is a nineties emo band that are alright. Also, you might dig Rites of Spring. Its always an argument when you try to place this band in a genre, some say Emo some say Post-Hardcore either way you should give them a listen. Fugazi also fits along with RoS. Embrace is also in this same boat, but give it a listen. I would also like to mention Dag Nasty and One Last Wish. These bands aren't Emo but certainly this circle of bands are Post-Hardcore and often times related with the Emo scene.

edit: I guess I didn't edit the youtube link into the first post like I meant to, my bad. If this video piques your interest, however, I can find you a link to the whole album. There are many better songs on the whole thing that I simply didn't find on youtube. Last edited by clutnuckle; 05-24-2010 at 02:26 PM. |
