I've got about 2000 LPs and 200-odd 7".
No way am I going to post them all, but I particularly like collecting first presses, because the sound quality tends to be nothing less than awesome. My favourite firsts are; AC/DC; TNT, High Voltage, Let There Be Rock, Highway To Hell, Back in Black, For Those About to Rock Barclay James Harvest; Octoberon, Gone to Earth, XII Beatles; Rubber Soul, Revolver, Sgt Peppers, Abbey Road Black Sabbath; Black Sabbath, Paranoid, Master of Reality, Vol 4, Sabbath Bloody Sabbath, Heaven and Hell Boston; Boston Camel; Camel, Mirage Cream; Fresh Cream, Disraeli Gears Deep Purple; The Book of Talysin, In Rock, Machine Head Eagles; Hotel California Fleetwood Mac; Rumours Genesis; Trespass, Nursery Cryme, Foxtrot, Selling England by the Pound, Duke Gong; Flying Teapot, Angel's Egg, You Groundhogs; Split Hatfield and the North; Hatfield and the North, The Rotter's Club Hawkwind; Doremi Fasol Latido, Space Ritual, Warrior On The Edge of Time, Sonic Attack Iron Maiden; Iron Maiden, The Number of the Beast Jefferson Airplane; Surrealistic Pillow Jet; Get Born King Crimson; In The Court of the Crimson King Led Zeppelin; II, III, IV Motorhead; On Parole, Overkill, Ace of Spades, Iron Fist Pink Floyd; Saucerful of Secrets, Meddle, Dark Side of the Moon, Animals Placebo; Black Market Music, Sleeping With Ghosts Pulp; Different Class Queen; Queen, Queen II Supertramp; Even in the Quietest Moments, Crime of the Century Thin Lizzy; Johnny the Fox UFO; Phenomenon Wishbone Ash; Pilgrimage The above list paints a poor impression of my collection, simply because tracking down first pressings is a long (but enjoyable) task, and you can't always find your favourites. I have many modern, funk, reggae, pop, jazz and somewhat esoteric recordings as well as the obvious classic and Prog rock - but the majority is metal from 1979-1986. I also have a large number of classical recordings, which probably equals my metal collection. All vinyl - I'm trying to replace all my CDs and mp3s because I hate both the sound and the formats. |
