Thee real emo bands?
Hey everyone! This would most definetly be my first post on this forum. haha. but yeah i've been reading a bunch of these threads, and ive searched and all. Ive just started listening to this genre, or relating genres and otehr people's perception as to waht is seen as emo. Fugazi, bright eyes, thursday, the early november, underoath, hawthorne heights, rites of spring, a static lullaby etc.
I am wondering what are the names of some of the artists that are actually real emo? Its very hard to determine because of the different views. but if i could get some songs and artist names, that would be awesome! thanks everyone |

"Its very hard to determine because of the different views" You answered your own question...this is a very annoying subject and everyone does have different views and no doubtably you're going to get replies from both veiws.

I can't tell you how tired I am of hearing the words "real emo" mentioned on the forum. Forget swear words, I'd much rather have real emo censored from the boards. In response to your question, there is no such thing as real emo. emo is whatever you want it to be.

Wait. You're jsut getting into emo and already you've been listening to stuff like Fugazi?
You work pretty fast. I can tell. At any rate I'm not totally for whatever one else who has posted said. In lamen's turns I kinda disagree with just about everything that most people said. To an extent anyways. No offense to most people on this forum, but a lot of people here have been brainwashd with arguing with each other about this person's opinion and crazy stupid stuff like that amongst other things. In any case, most people will be over generalized when it comes to this topic and say that only stuff like Jimmy Eat World, Blink 182, and yellow Card are real emo. When in actuality bands like Yellow Card consider themselves to be punk. And then there are people who say stuff that it's all emo even if it's punk, or whatever. And there are people like me who say that emo is a turn given to bands by people who don't think their music is '***' because it's not as hard core as something as Octane In which case I say guys who use the word emo to describe bands like Yellow Card are homophobic jerks who should be castrated. And if you're female then may you be castrated as well. And you know why? Because I said so. And because I think people who listen to stuff like Yellow Card are groovy because I like Yellow Card. so there. And yes I said 'groovy.' Although I'm not sure if I used it in the right context, but i sure as heck hope I did. And I feel as though I didn't accurately answer your question. So I will add that if: if you want to hear real emo buy a CD by Metallica. Or just listen to their song "Sand man". that's emo for ya. Nutter butters to ya Peace out.

from now on, the origin post is a sticky. when there is a stupid question like this, that is where you will post it. not in a new thread.
