Whats so bad about a band becoming mainstream? it becomes mainstream becuz its good and alot of people like it. so it becomes popular. Who are u to decide what is good and what is not. Majority rules. we all know that.

Ok I am here to correct all of you emo kids. Punk is made up of anger and volume. Emo is made up of Pop and emotions, emo is short for emotional. If you hear real punk bands like The Causualties, Cheap Sex, and A Global Threat, youll notice there are pure angry songs. Punk will never and it can never be about breaking up with girls or sad stuff. See guys what happend is that some bands somewhere in 1983 tried to bring emotional songs through punk and thats what we call Emo. Emo is everything against punk because punk is anger and emo is sadness. SO yes " EMO IS NOT PUNK NO MATTER WHO THE **** TOLD YOU THIS, WHO EVER TOLD YOUT HIS GO BEAT THEIR ASSES WITH A STICK. PUNK IS ****ING ANGER AND VOLUME AND GET THAT STRAIGHT.

Sadly, you are mistaken. Emo is NOT "oh man I'm depressed that I got dumped". Emo is "I'm going to burn her for what she did to me".
