Christian Rock
I have been listening to alot of christian music recently.
Bands like emery, underoath, anberlin, and mewithoutyou. Check em out at www.toothandnail.com |
Try Copeland, they're pretty good if you're into christian rock
|
What about Ralient K.
EMERY IS CHRISTIAN????? |
you know May is on tooth and nail and their not christen i thought that was interesting also good christen bands:
blind side Norma jean demand hunter ace troubleshooter spoken elms project 86 |

i forgot dead poetic as well. i think mae suck. i also didnt know about blindside, thats sweet. |
i'm not a big fan of mae either but whatever but their are some really sweet christen bands out their and think it's really dumb when people like a band than they find out it's christen than out of nowhere they hate it really immature if you ask me
|
didn't know blindside was christian either, one of my favorite bands (well, among the 50 or so bands that I call my favorite :) ). emery's a sick band too, copeland's good, but I dunno, for some reason they just don't really do it for me, nothing wrong, just one of those bands that for some reason isn't all that exciting for me. I like dead poetic every once in a while, when I'm in the right mood.

DEAD POETIC AND EMERY ARE CHRISTIAN???
SINCE WHEN?? From where did you get these informations? |

In their latest album it's not as obvious, you have to take the lyrics as metaphors and whatnot.. |
Quote:
You have to take EVERY LYRICS of them as metaphors.. but August Winterman? Well, maybe they changed in a religious way since new medicines... because I can´t find any real Metaphors that lead to a christion opinion! |

Emery's lyircs aren't overtly Christian but the members are. Thats the main requirement to being a Christian rock band. The lyrics can be about anything (except Satan I guess).
Good ChristxCore/ Christian rock labels: Facedown Records Strike First Records Tooth & Nail Harvest Earth Solid State Blood & Ink |
It's funny cuz when Underoath -(an awesome NOW supposedly christian band) first came out their sound was so Hardcore and screaming like hell. Especially on their first albums like 'Act of Depression' & 'Changing of Times'. Now since they've changed people in the band like lead screamer, their sound is less screamy i would say and on some songs talking more about religious related things.
|
^ read the lyrics to their songs dude. Highly christian. They've toned down their message and gotten softer.

Emery-walls, fractions, ponytail parade Underoath-boy brushed blue... (something like that) Anberlin-ready fuels mewithoutyou-gentleman DeadPoetic-glass in the trees. |
^thanks man, i'll download them now.....i mean buy their albums....
|
If you like hardcore, I'd check out Norma Jean. That'd be the way to go from all the bands listed in this thread.
|
also try:
spoken demond hunter bleach scrach line ace truble shotter tfk |
I fail to see hoe Underoath are a christian rock band :S
|
Just read the lyrics.
|
Another few pointers are that they are on a christian label. The first person they all thank is jesus, to varing degrees of creepyness.
|
most of the bands mentioned on this thread are christian hardcore, metal, or emo bands. I think Blindside is a great band. I also like P.O.D But most people when they hear christian rock, they think of whining acoustic bands that say the same thing over and over again and sound like crap. I have to listen to my boss play wrbs(nothing but christian "rock") all day and thats torture.

i fail to see how you can misspell how. but anyway, on Their Only Chasing Safety, almost all the lyrics were secular. However track 10 "Some Will Seek Forgiveness, Other's Escape" is very religiously themed. So much so the last line is "Jesus, I'm ready to come home." |
