Thoughts on emo.
Emo gets me down. Not the music created by emo bands, as such. But the concept. Why do we allow the idea of people writing songs which express emotion to have a special category all by itself? Surely every song is emo, as the idea behind writing songs is to express emotion, isn't it? (Well, pop songs are usually wrote to boost the payroll of the artist, but that's irrelevant.) Surely it's an insult to bands who aren't classed as emo to not call them emo? Is it calling their songs emotionless? Well, technically, it's saying that they're emotional in a different way. So they're emo. All songs are emo. Apart from the ones that obviously aren't.
Very odd, emo is. |
emo is a genre, not a song writing technique. believe it or not, but there are emo bands that are insturmental!
|
Surely the same still applies? And...instrumental? Is there a god?

I can't stand people who wallow in selfpitty and blame other people for there sh!ty life and then make idle threat's about killing themselves. I'm not saying your all like this but the emo kid's i know are and i wish they would remeber that there's always knives in the kitchen so quit threatening already.
|
^^ Isn't that a bit harsh? It's ok i guess if the person threatening has no reason to and is just doing it for attention, but if they really do have problems with the people around them it's not really their fault. Wouldn't you feel a bit guilty if you said that to someone and they went ahead and killed themselves? Anyways off topic, i know... Back to the emo thing...
