I'm having a hard time getting into some of the screamo
I'm very open to music and I can appreciate a lot of this screamo but I'm having problems really enjoying a lot of it.
Currently, I'm into a lot of the post-hardcore that many on here don't like. Bands like Saosin (with Anthony Green, not as much with Cove, they went too mainstream) Thursday Chiodos The Sounds of Animals Fighting At the Drive In Refused and I used to be into Silverstein, Senses Fail, and Hawthorne Heights but I outgrew all three to an extent As for the more screamo, as soon as I found it, I've been addicted to Lion of the North. I also like You and I (143 is one of my favorite songs ever). I can listen to Hot Cross, Saetia, and Circle Takes the Square but not for long periods of time. All three of the are very borderline for me. What are some bands (or maybe more accessible songs from the more hardcore bands) that are more like You and I and Lion of the North that I can listen to? It seems like I can reach into the genre and pull some amazing songs out but I can never stay for long. |

Some good post-hardcore there (mainly ATDI, Refused, and Thursday).
I admit, I haven't listened to You and I or LOTN, but an accessible band that a lot of people seem to enjoy is Envy, which I also enjoy. A more conventional screamo band that I find accessible as well is I, Robot. Also check: MySpace.com - Caitlyn Bailey - DC, Region XI - Punk / Soul / Thrash - www.myspace.com/caitlynbailey You can download their EP free, and the screamer is a member of Musicbanter. I'm no screamo expert, though.

but check out Kodan Armada, I know you will like them. Also check out Cowboys Became Folk Heroes. Those screamo bands you listen to now are what a lot of people listen to when they first get into it, it kind of grows on you I guess. I dont know, I always loved listening to love like...electrocution and then pretty much everything else I found after that was awesome. different for everyone, but yea, check out kodan...also check out d'amore. They have a wide array of sounds and they sing and I made a myspace for them haha. myspace.com/damoreband |
