Why are there so many screamo fans on here?

???????????????

Akira 11-25-2008 03:28 PM

Are there? Why does this bother you?

Your side of the discussion fails.

Alfred 11-25-2008 03:29 PM

Why does that matter? Is it a bad thing?

someonecompletelyrandom 11-25-2008 03:29 PM

You know I hadn't really noticed alot of screamo fans. Anyone in particular that you had in mind?

Gareth Brown 11-25-2008 03:34 PM

It wasn't meant as a negative thing, it was merely an observation. A rather pointless observation now i think about it.

bardonodude 11-26-2008 09:59 AM

there are way more screamo fans on viva la vinyl, I think there are only about 20-30 people on this forum even though it seems like a lot haha

anticipation 11-26-2008 04:28 PM

i've always thought there was a severe lack of skramz fans on mb,
especially since zealious and ethan stopped posting here.

FaSho 11-26-2008 04:31 PM

I'm a screamo fan! I just don't show it much, because I'm only into the really mainstream stuff. I don't know any of the obscure bands you guys talk about.

Alfred 11-26-2008 04:54 PM

screamo=/=mainstream

bardonodude 11-26-2008 11:47 PM

Always assumed those bands were like regarded as the main screamo bands, what are they a gateway to?

Ahhh.

I like screamo, but I wouldn't call myself a huge fan (because I don't know a lot of bands). Saetia is among my most played bands though.

I dunno, I'm familiar with:

Ampere
The Birds Are Spies, They Report To The Trees
Cowboys Became Folk Heroes
Envy
Funeral Diner
I, Robot
I Wrote Haikus About Cannibalism In Your Yearbook
Orchid
The Saddest Landscape
Saetia
Song Of Zarathustra
Still Life
Yaphet Kotto

That Narrators band that upped a demo for us is pretty tight too.

they're a gateway to the plethora of other screamo bands that kick a ton more tail

sleepy jack 11-27-2008 09:13 PM

I still like screamo I just don't talk about it as much because its not computer music.

Rubber 11-27-2008 09:32 PM

makes sense

anticipation 11-28-2008 06:37 AM

the birds are spies, they report to the trees have a sick name but their music is so awful.

haha yea, I could never get into them

xcassiusx 11-28-2008 07:30 PM

It might be because they don't really "try." All their material is just stuff they made really quick when in studio, because they just jam and record what they make. Hence why they barely ever play shows, because they typically don't remember what they played. They just jam and that's the end of it.
But yeah, it is pretty boring.

Alfred 11-29-2008 09:34 PM

I thought their stuff was okay, but it's not among the more enjoyable screamo I've heard.

My least favorite band out of the ones I listed would most certainly be I Wrote Haikus About Cannibalism In Your Yearbook.

bardonodude 11-30-2008 10:23 AM

I used to never understand why people liked I Wrote Haikus About Cannibalism In Your Yearbook so much but eventually they became an aquired taste.

Alfred 11-30-2008 10:29 AM

Maybe it's the dreadful quality of that demo that turns me off.

when you've listened to boy problems and the berge, then come talk to me about shitty recordings.

incidently, iwrotehaikus are in my top ten.

Alfred 11-30-2008 07:14 PM

By the way, did you all check out that band "Narrators" a while back? I've become pretty hooked on their four-song demo.

bardonodude 11-30-2008 07:21 PM

of course narrators are my bois, big thanks for francis (cult classic) for finding them

Alfred 11-30-2008 07:23 PM

Have they released anything new? I must know.

bardonodude 12-01-2008 12:36 AM

nah they havent, check out their myspace and their blog but they are coming out with a split 7", a full length and a limited press of this live recording they did

goddammit, i have been remembered!

past few weeks, i've been listening to tons of twee pop. not that i don't listen to screamo anymore. i listen to a lot but i guess i tend to settle into old favorites more often than not. i'm a nostalgic sap that way.

anyway, caitlyn bailey is hitting the studio next month. we're recording for our split with enuma elis and/or stella dawes. i can't wait to hear narrators' newer stuff though. i think they've stepped up since they recorded that demo.

bardonodude 12-07-2008 01:16 AM

I hope so, yea I havent seen you online for a bit. Im looking forward to new caitlyn bailey though :)

Rubber 12-10-2008 07:03 PM

Why would you post this dumb question?

xcult_classicx 12-12-2008 08:11 AM

it's not that dumb seeing as people actually exchanged some information there. i mean, some people did get into the discussion. it's not as if he asked if monkeys liked it in the butt or something.

Why are you crying because you don't like a band?

Why are you badly trolling this forum?

it took me a while too, but now they're one of my favorite bands.

my only advice is to listen to stuff that sounds like them, see if you dig it, and if you decide you do then return to iwrotehaikus...

CAPTAIN CAVEMAN 12-12-2008 03:52 PM

why would you put so much effort into liking a band that has a marginal amount of material and isnt very unique anyways

hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

deviltown 12-12-2008 11:15 PM

"true screamo is worse than the false one"

bardonodude 12-13-2008 12:49 AM

its all a matter of oppinion, the one thing about iwrotehaikus is their recording quality is horrible but there is something about their childish melodies throughout their songs on top of awesome screams that appeal to me.

Trauma 12-15-2008 01:45 AM

All of I Wrote Haikus About Cannibalism In Your... sounds the same.
All of their enormous wealth of recorded music.
