Making an "emo" movie
 

My friend and I are making an "emo movie". We have our basic story line and everything but I wanted to see what other people think should be in the movie. And who better to send in their oppinions but completely anonamous people who I dont know and probably never will :-)

So basicly. Im making an emo movie, please reply with some imput

Its kindof like SLC Punk and the Anarchest Cookbook (movie) accept its not about being punk or an anarchist its about being emo... sounds dumb I know, but Im not too good at describing things :-/

so whats the story?

Its your clasic "falls in love with best friend" story. We dont have much of the story, its hard to think about that kind of stuff when you want to.

Im starting to confuse myself...

Im going to make this simpler... If you were making a movie that revolved aroud the "emo scene" what would you put in it... for a story line, small plots... blah blah

So it's sort of a remake of 'Singles' only with the backdrop of emo rather than grunge?

'Singles' was a pretty average film, with a pretty outstanding soundtrack.

i dont know about plots, but you should definitely have one of those sad leave-it-hanging endings. you should have the chick like the guy for a while (like a tease) and then have her cheat with some gangster black guy. THAT is emo.

So long as the guy ends up crying and writing his journal, I'll be happy.

Is it a joke? That would make a killer movie. classic coffee shop scene, and emo kid slitting his wrists and writing in his deadjournal etc...

or is it serious?

I guess it would be concidered a joke. Im going to take the whole movie making thing serisously. But its going to be the stereotypical emo boy slitting his wrists wearing his goodwill polos... blah blah

make the movie about nothing, but one guy, and how he feels like nothing. good game i should be a writer.

Basic story.

Boy is quiet. New girl starts at school. Boy finds her attractive but can't get courage to ask her out. Girl has trouble settling in because she likes the wrong type of music to be cool. Boy and girl make chance meeting, make it at an emo concert full of emo types. Boy and girl become friends. Boy and girl go out lots, hold hands, possibly even have sex :eek: . Girl becomes confused. Boy becomes upset by this confusion. Girl cheats on boy with "cool" boy who obviously likes rap and wears football shirts. Boy is distraught. Writes in his journal. Girl is then treated badly by "cool" boy. Girl realises her mistake. Boy then either turns her down or takes her back. The end.

that looks like a typical american film, i think it's not very emo...(but, if u ask Thrice he'll say that everything is emo...even britney spears... :usehead: )
anyway, there's no need of sex in a film, that makes the film more superficial. i agree with oi_to_the_world, it should have one of those sad leave-it-hanging endings. that's more interesting
