and i love them.. i have there low level owl albums and i love them.. i listen to them every day as one.. listen to every single song.. just amazing how it all fits so perfectly together.. the lyrics are so amazing.. the friend that got me into them said those albums are up there with the wall.. and i agree.. and i also think the writing is some of the best i've heard in a long long time.. :o)

i find there music puts me at ease and takes me another world.. thers something about it.. it just wows me.. anyways i like them. i think there awesome and i can't wait for a new album to come out!!! :o)

"Max" is one of my favorite songs ever. The rest of their stuff just kinda bores me.

i guess depends on what your into... i really like them.. they remind me of floyd strange enough!. lots of instrument stuff and realyl good lyrics.. works well together in my ears :)

meh, like people have already said, it's overdone. a lot of bands sound exactly like them, but they do it better. It's not bad music, it just doesnt really add anything to the table, and the songs i listened to all sounded so similar they became really monotonous and boring.

If you ever manage to go to one of their shows, drink coffee. Lots of it.

I've been hearing more of them from people lately so I decided to give them a little listen and they are pretty good :D

everyones heard of explosions in the sky right?
well to me when 'I' listen one of Appleseeds instruments songs, both those bands sound a lot alike and no i'm not just saying it becase in some songs its just instruments only, its the way both bands play, and how every thing just flows. because of this i find explosions in the sky remind me of Appleseed cast, and when i went to listen to explosions in the sky.. all i wanted to do was turn on Appleseed cast.. there not as good (explosions in the sky i mean), plus the songs that have lyrics to them are actually rather good.. until explosions in the sky.. the few songs that there is singing/really bad accent talking is rather bad.. there the songs i'd much rather skip over.

the Appleseed cast to me is a band that i can't seem to get sick of. I've been listening to the Low Level Owl albums like mad these past three months and i think there amazing. I got into other great bands more and more throughout the months but they don't stick to me like this band does. To me Appleseed Cast truely make great music.

Really. I would love to hear some bands that are like them. Yah I have heard explosions, and if you those kinds of bands you should check out Do make say think or mogwai. I'm more interested in their experimental music like low level owl Vol 1 and 2 and their new CD is pretty good too. I dont see how you can say they are monotonous and boring, their music just makes me want to listen to it over and over again. Anyways if you got some more bands along these lines just post them here :)

Oh yah I forgot to say, this post should be in the indie forum. Yah they got some emo bull**** in their songs but I think they are more experimental.

^I think they are more like boredom epitomised. But, to each his own. Just strikes me that this is a band that gets name-dropped far more often than is listened to. A more "underground" band that practically is no different to all the others.

Hmmm, I take it not many around here like these guys, but I personally love the Low Level Owl albums. Mare Vitalis is also great: does anyone have any recs for stuff similar to those records?

I just got the Low Level Owls albums and I listened to part of it last night and then listened through both albums today and I am really enjoying it. It all just flows so well. I think I could listen to it over and over and not get bored with it.

The 3 way split is ok, but i'm not huge on the Planes Mistaken for Stars tracks. Race Car Riot is sweet though.

The earlier it is, the better. In the songs i've recorded, i have made a subconscious effort to mimic the vocals off The End of the Ring Wars. Yes!

these guys are awesome, the first emo band that I ever listened to, i agree some of their songs can be boring sometimes

Been listening to these guys a lot recently. "Steps and Numbers" along with most of Peregrine.

One of my favorite bands ever, Low Level Owl Vol. 1 is pretty much flawless. The new album kicks ass too.

I enjoy Low Level Owl Vol. 1 and Mare Vitalis the most. It's been ages since I played it but I remember disliking End of the Ring Wars quite a bit (particularly the vocals I think). The rest of their stuff is not bad but not great, and I haven't heard the new one.

i haven't gotten the newest album yet but i heard it's not too thrilling. i'm trying to get into them but there's just something about them i can't get past. i do agree "Low Level Owl Vol 1" is amazing though

Bump. I'm digging the hell out of Low Level Owl Vol I & II lately. They're very slow-burning albums and it's taken me a while to get into them, but they're just so good. These guys had the post-rock infused emo sound nailed down over a decade ago.

I really like their debut, which is less along the post rock lines. But has big emo anthems like Antihero & Dreamland.
Only discovered them semi-recently myself though so will look into their later works.

They never did anything for me. Just another band in a long line of Mineral/SDRE clones

"Marigold & Patchwork" is my favorite, first song, first album, then rest is just OK.
