i know i'm gonna get alot of **** for sayin this, but what is emo?
 

basically the name ses it all. remember, as they alwawy say on seseme street, "if u dont ask questions, u dont get answers"(or sumfin like that)

haha...man you couldve just asked me at school, but while its here mays will answer. emo stands for 'emotional' and as you can see, its a branch of punk. It generally uses more emotion in the voice, you can still have soft emo (ie singin about girls and shi,t.) but you can also have screamo emo (heehee that sounds rad) which isnt always about chicks, just about themselfs or a story, I guess you could Say Thrice is screamo emo.
However Punkrock is...... i forget the proper difinition of it i think a band had it on a shirt...anyway its a faster better version of rock.
and thats the jist of it. I'll explain more 2moz at school.

Well, yellowcard, emo definitely does not have to be about girls. A lot of it is, but that's mostly because it's written by young guys, and that is something that they have a lot of emotion about. Also, the "word" screamo is a combination of 'scream' and 'emo' so saying screamo emo is redundant. Screamo is more of a "post hardcore emo" type of music.
