Hardcore is probably the most subjective genre of music ever, I mean, there are so many different genres ending in 'core its rediculous. I mean, I could say that The Locust, Melt Banana or An Albatross are my favorite hardcore bands, and then somebody will go "Foo'!! Those bands are noisecore- mathcore-electrocore! Get your facts straight!!"
Sure, I guess that makes sense, alot of my favorite bands are spazzy, mathy and electricy, but its hard to come up with a specific definition of the term of hardcore, as it is for alot of sub-genres of music. "Hardcore" music to me is mostly just a general term since there are so many different forms of it. Hardcore to me is just music that is fast, aggresive and most likely has screaming or aggresive vocals. All this genre nit-pickery often annoys me, I usually tend to ignore genres alot because frankly I don't see why it matters. I usually just describe the band I like or whatever instead of classifying them. |

Yeah, some buttwipe got really pissed at me because I said that Cancer Bats and Bad Brains were a couple of my favorite hardcore bands. He's like "they're punk".
And then he goes and posts some lyrics by his friend's hardcore band, which I'm assuming by the nature of the thread was some crappy Black Flag-esque band.
