but I'd like to know what's so "wrong" with it
none of them are emo, period. you'd know that if you listened to emo.

I don't know what self conceived opinion on it you have, but 187 and I want to hear you sad are as emo as it gets.

false. senses fail is an absolute garbage band. none of those bands are emo/screamo in the least. i had no idea that genres were simply "opinions" considering they are based on music theory.

you just named 10 pop rock songs. wrong thread.

Just because Fuse calls them emo doesn't make them emo. They have nothing to do with the genre at all.....Done.

No, just because you say they're not emo doesn't mean they're not. You're basing it off your own opinion, not what the genre actually constitutes.

That's like mean saying the stones aren't rock, simply because I don't like them.

I'm not saying "I don't liek them , which means they're not emo" i'm stating a fact that they're not. There is no way you can say Et Tu Brute and Armor For Sleep remotely sound the same. I Hate Myself doesn't sound close to Junior Varsity. The bands you mentioned don't keep the original hardcore influences the 80's emo bands did, they're music was much more passionate and heartfelt. The bands mentioned put a poppy sound with "my girlfriend left me, and I feel so bad for myself" lyrics. If compare the 80's sound to what today calls emo, they hold no linkage in sound or song writing.

All of those are emo, except for Bullet for My Valentine. Just because you don't like it doesn't make it not emo.
