Toxic Reasons

Are really good, and better than pretty much everything people discuss on this forum. Anyone else like them?

I like the old school vibe on their first few albums. I think they did a good job fitting into that really energetic early 80s hardcore sound which appeals me to a whole lot more than the whole over-dramatized semi-screamo that seems to get praised around here. Different taste in hardcore and hardcore related music I guess.

xcult_classicx 01-27-2008 04:36 PM

i listen to a lot of hardcore punk and i don't hear anything special.

lol yeah bands like ctts and raien and graf orlock are overdramatized semi-screamo. how does it feel to be stupid? Must be interesting.

This band is alright but there are much much better hardcore bands out there.

I was actually referring to the Fall Of Troy nonsense everyone seems to love. Nice assumption though, guy.

Agreed, there are a lot of hardcore bands that are considerably better. I just happened to be listening to them at the time I made the thread so they came to mind.

sleepy jack 01-28-2008 01:13 AM

I think Scott and I are the only avid Fall of Troy fans.

I'll third that statement, and back it with bands such as Minor Theat, Black Flag and Bad Brains. Many bands are overlooked for a reason...

This still doesn't explain why Beastie Boys are often ignored as a hardcore band.

sleepy jack 01-28-2008 02:15 AM

Probably because they didn't release much and they looked too cute as little hardcore punk rockers to be taken seriously

maybe because they made it big as a rap group.

bloodorflies 01-28-2008 07:36 AM

meh

xcult_classicx 01-28-2008 07:55 AM

i didn't really think the beastie boys' punk stuff was that great.
