Why do dudes in screamo bands like post rock so much?
my guitarist does this post rock thing by himself. i just wondered what made screamo kids go gaga all over post-rock

word.
Maybe it's because in screamo the vocals are more of an instrument, with the lyrics becoming unintelligeble a lot of the time the focus is more to express emotion through sound instead of words, like an instrument. In post-rock, there usually are no vocals (as is my experience), but the main focus is to portray intense emotion, as it is in screamo. that's what I think of it, at least. |

There was always a close connection between the two, with bands like A Minor Forest and Chisel Drill Hammer playing shows with other emo bands and appearing on comps next to emo bands. ****, look at Slint, and that was late 80s/early 90s.
