Default Lookin' for good band recommendations

I've been getting into hardcore/punk/avant garde/generally noisy music more and more these days, but finding new bands that aren't totally generic and bland is rough. I like bands that can find a good counter balance between chaos and hookiness. I've used the similar artist tool on Yahoo Music, but it usually gives me nothing but crap.

These are a few bands that I'm into at the moment: The Blood Brothers (Newer work more than older), Refused (The Shape of Punk to Come in particular), the Beep Beeps, Chiodos, Head Wound City, Mclusky, The Paper Chase, At The Drive In, etc., etc.

I realize the above bands have fairly disparate sounds, but I'm casting a wide net. So if you can think of a band with a similar sound, or just something that might blow me clean out of the water, I'd appreciate it.

I'm familiar with Fall of Troy. They have their high points, but they're hit or miss. They fall victim to the generic disease just a tad.

How do you see TFOT as Generic...I really havent heard any bands that sound at all similar to them other than maybe Red Museum..who members of that band used to play with the boys back in the Tribune days..and they still dont sound like them.

Good call on Femme Fatale. Some of the better hardcore I've heard, period.

I'm not that well versed in punk, but in terms of hardcore I enjoy Converge, A Wilhelm Scream, some old Comeback Kid, Circle Takes the Square, Cro-Mags, some MLIW and Orchid. A lot of it was recommended to me by a mate of mine, who is a member of Score One For Safety.

I'm not sure if those bands are considered to be tr00 or sellouts or whatever, but it's what I've been listening to.
