I'm not sure if those bands are considered to be tr00 or sellouts or whatever, but it's what I've been listening to.

Hey Seltzer, give it 5 or 6 years and some of the good screamo from the 90's might finally reach New Zealand! Didn't know anyone over there was into that stuff - I went into Real Groovy in Auckland 2 years ago and found lots of rare 90's emo/screamo 7''s in a box under one of the shelves. Bought most of them. And it's stuff that people will kill for.

Yeah, Femme Fatale are good. Only found out the other day that FF is just one guy playing all the instruments - How many arms does this guy have!

haha, go figure, the bass dude from Death From Above 1979.

Yeah, I got the DFA 1979 album just a couple a days ago, and it's awesome. It's all drums bass and a little synth, but it never fails to suprise you.

they got nice hair+beard combos too.

How do you see TFOT as Generic...I really havent heard any bands that sound at all similar to them other than maybe Red Museum..who members of that band used to play with the boys back in the Tribune days..and they still dont sound like them.

I can recommend old bands:

AGNOSTIC FRONT (NY punk hardcore
)
D.R.I (crossover).
and bands that even then were doing something a little different:

LUDICHRIST
CRUMBSUCKERS

I am totally enamored with pmtoday.

I am particularly interested to hear from any fans of the paper chase, the beep beeps, or the plot to blow up the eiffel tower. Stuff that is not strictly speaking hardcore, but has a hardcore element in it. More experimental stuff.

I also just acquired "Curses" by The Future of the Left (The pheonix that has risen from the ashes of Mclusky). Its totally killer noise rock. Definately not hardcore, but still has a dischordant, angular screaminess about it.

The plot were a great band.

I'll have to check out The Future of the Left cos Mclusky was great.

bardonodude 12-15-2007 08:52 PM

The Plot were awesome <3, they got banned from baltimore because their roady got drunk and just urinated at the top of the venue they were playing at's steps (the brass monkey) and it turned into a "piss waterfall" trickling down onto many a show goers heads haha.

Red Museum sounds like a new wave fall of troy rip off. Dude I really cant tell the difference between Manipulator and Red Museum haha, jesus. I think I like it better than Manipulator though lol. Doesnt sound anything like tribune. Thats not a bad thing, I know people dont like when bands are influenced from original bands making that band unoriginal in a way but whatever.
