totally agree about sailboats. behind trees is a solid tune, but outside of that, its nothing to **** your pants about. loma prieta's new cd certainly is though. it has to be one of my favorite screamo releases out there.

also, what is with all these screamo bands? they tour europe more than they tour the states, which is absolutely ludicrous. hey loma prieta, the us beats the pants off krautland anyday. seriously. its like "hey, lets never play michigan, but go play shows in switzerland."
haha I guess touring Europe is the "screamo" thing to do. I read a couple of bands say that they love to tour Europe because the people are way nicer and a lot of the times people booking the show for you will feed you and give you a place to sleep.

I always wonder how the hell they fund those tours. Its hard enough getting money together for a US tour, let alone a European tour. Not only are you flying across seas with equipment and a half ton of other ****, but then there's van rentals and all that jazz. No wonder screamo bands have such short lives, they're too busy uppin' the punx to pay bills.

Plus, in Europe (if you do a major tour like Off Minor is doing), then chances are you're going to need a driver to help you out. Unless, by chance, you know how to get across all those countries. Paying driver + gas = only two factors that probably add up to a big total.

I don't know how Off Minor is affording all that (while traveling Japan, Australia, etc.) Then again, they've rarely played the past 2 years, so they're probably putting all their savings into it. OH, plus they just recorded a full length and a split.

... What the **** do they do for a living?

i know jamie is a doctor or something like that. as of a couple years ago, he was finishing up interning and his doctorate degree, so i'm sure he does quite well for himself. i'm pretty sure they all are quite well off.

i've been trying to figure out how to get men as trees to europe lately. seems like unless you know someone over there who wants to book it for you, it will never happen. i just think it would be a blast to see europe for the first time with my band. but yeah, i'm jealous as hell at bands that tour outside of north america.
