Thanks I'll dig in pretty soon after I finish listening to Opeth.

Grindcore

I was confused as to start this thread in the rock and metal forum or the punk forum, but since Grindcore is a punk subgenre, I posted it here. If any mods think i started this thread in the wrong forum, then move it please :)

So, any grindcore fans here? I enjoy Terrorizer, Nausea and Insect Warfare. I haven't grown to enjoy Napalm Death, Carcass and Repulsion as much as other people.

A lot of people dislike the microsongs in grindcore and goregrind, but I don't see anything wrong in them. Insect Warfare are the kings of microsongs, World Extermination has over 20 microsongs and every one of them kick ass!

Agreed.

On a different note, I recommend Nausea's Crime Against Humanity to any Grind or DeathGrind fan.

any metal subgenre with -core at the end ive found incredibly dull.

MegaHassan 10-26-2008 07:12 AM

Haha, Grindcore isn't a metal subgenre. Its a fusion of Hardcore punk and crust punk, with some crossover elements thrown in. Grindcore and Death Metal developed at the same time, and a lot of the early grindcore bands became death metal later on. Carcass, Napalm Death etc.

Believe me, grindcore is completely different from metalcore and deathcore.

FaSho 10-26-2008 07:32 AM

Napalm Death and Agoraphobic Nosebleed are the only listenable grind bands, but they're ****ing amazing.
