hardline/crews do ruin the scene, it's what stopped me from fully embracing posi/edge due to too many arseholes. It's not something I want to be part of.

I hate when I hear about people who say they don't like SxE kids cause of the feww A$$holes that go around beating kids up. I'm from NYC were crews have always been huge in our scene. I guess maybe I'm just use to it. I now live outside Atlanta and the SxE scene here is very posi no fights. Most of the fights here are at shows like Poison the well and stuff like that.

And X'ing up is not heavy handed. Its no different then someone wearing a team jersey or band shirt. I would never encourage hitting someone because they drink/smoke etc... But at the same time I won't let you stand there and say SxE is stupid you should drink beer your life must be boring blah blah blah... I will more then likely punch you in your face. I know not very posi but I never was.

I'm fine with you not being edge. I won't call you stupid or anything but if call my beliefs stupid we have a problem. I've been edge since like 93/94 and at first I was posi but I gave that up real quick. But to each their own.

If they were truly brave they'd be man enough to fight one-on-one.

maybe they have, this was a couple of years back. but i always shared the same sentiment. don't real men want a fair fight? whatever.

The term straight-edge is ****ing retarded. If you don't drink/smoke than just say it.

enemyat_thesix 11-09-2007 05:30 PM

What's wrong with the term?

Anyway, if people ask me to go to a party, or try to offer me pot or ****, I generally say, "Nah, I don't drink," or "Nah, I don't smoke." If they then ask if I'm edge, I say yes. I'm not ashamed of my edge in any way, but I don't go around flaunting it. Edge doesn't make you a "better person" per se, it gives you a better chance at life and a healthier lifestyle.

Bull****. I smoke pot and take other psychoactives relatively frequently. I maintain good grades and attend class regularly. I make time for homework/studying and working out, and at night and the weekends, I get ****ing hammered.

you mean the one that you're going to lose no matter what?
you only get one life, why not make the worst of it?

i don't try to change people's beliefs, but don't go saying that i can't think something is stupid as fuck.
that mentality is going to get you beat the fuck up.

enemyat_thesix 11-10-2007 09:21 PM

tell that to all the people who OD and spend countless nights vomiting their guts out. they can't remember their weekends or the people they've ****ed. they wake up with STDs and ulcers. I live in the heart of Boston; every night I see literal hordes of people flood the streets in drunken stupor. not to mention all my classmates I see wandering around stoned as ****. of course drugs and alcohol don't ruin everyone's life, but I can't count the people I've seen with potential and dreams forget about them once they get involved with drugs.

To put it bluntly; if you let drugs and alcohol control (and potentially ruin) your life then perhaps it shouldn't have been lived at all. People without strong character or willpower shouldn't be able to participate in a mature, rational, intelligent society.

I'd even go so far as to say that perhaps drugs and alcohol exist almost as a form of control in humanity. A subtle means of population and gene pool pruning. Those who can handle them in a mature and wise manner prosper while enjoying the relaxing and holistic effects of the drugs and those who succumb to the base pleasure they provide.

enemyat_thesix 11-11-2007 01:09 PM

i'm not going to disagree with that.
