I just found these dudes, check out number 2 on their myspace. lol I think its pretty funny vocals but I really like the guitar. I found them through Men As Trees' record label, I cant wait for their full length. They also have a link to their older stuff for free.

2007. ARIADNE'S THREAD - Uncle Tony's Gonna Do A Little Demo DEMO CD.rar

sleepy jack 07-27-2007 11:50 PM

Are they anything like Saetia?

bardonodude 07-28-2007 12:01 AM

ehh not too much, their non-acoustic stuff is pure emotive hardcore I guess, the instrumentals in certain parts of their songs sound akin to saetia and their acoustic stuff is nothing like saetia lol. How come?

sleepy jack 07-28-2007 12:04 AM

Its the name mainly, i'll check it.

CAPTAIN CAVEMAN 07-28-2007 01:38 AM

They aren't bad. Downloaded the demo a while back, its fun.

alliteration 03-04-2008 02:20 PM

uhhh. i guess i'll bump my own stupid band's stupid thread that brandon made. we have a stupid ep that was recorded forever ago that will never come out. i'm sick of waiting so i'm just letting everyone download it who wants it. so here it is:

Ariadne's Thread - La Naissance EP (2008).rar

tell me how much you hate it.

bardonodude 03-04-2008 06:52 PM

thanks for upping it ben, let me know when it officially comes out and ill def buy it, im sure ill see some myspace bulletins haha. I really like the e.p. The transition from track to track is awesome, i love recordings like that. Anyways, the songs are awesome and you should def play around more with adding orchestra to your music, it goes really well with your style =). Thanks again

CAPTAIN CAVEMAN 03-04-2008 07:05 PM

I kept meaning on getting back to what you said on our myspace page a week or so ago. We are one step ahead of you, we are working on adding more synth and orchestral parts to our songs. once those get worked out, i'll make sure to share them with you. thanks a bunch for listening guys.

xcult_classicx 03-05-2008 01:16 AM

what program do you guys use for drum tracks?

xcult_classicx 03-05-2008 01:24 AM

if you guys are interested, i could contribute a few drum tracks. i sorta make some myself on my PC. i know you guys basically do midtempo stuff, but if you're interested in trying faster stuff out, i might be able to help. :)

we use a combination of native battery/fruity loops with basically customized drumbeat files so they sound more realistic. we used to do really fast stuff, most of our songs were under a minute. that got old really quick, and we got sick of programming in different time sigs, since it takes forever, so we decided to stick with the same time sig throughout songs. that will be different on the new songs. also, we will most likely have a real drummer for the new tracks, or at least they'll be recorded using live drums.

xcult_classicx 03-05-2008 06:43 PM

do you have recordings of your really fast stuff? oh yeah, i use Fruity Loops too.

alliteration 03-06-2008 01:32 PM

maybe somewhere. if i can find them and if i'm not too ashamed of them, i might share them. basically, it was fast paced folk punk with screaming. now that i think about it, it was really stupid.

xcult_classicx 03-06-2008 09:00 PM

haha, i tried blending skram and grindcore with my solo project.

were your fast paced songs in the vain of your acoustic demos? I thought those were actually pretty cool.

sort of, yeah. but waaaay worse. we used to have a few of them up at the same time as those acoustic ones, so you might remember them. we actually wrote a whole cd of like 8 tracks, but scrapped the idea when we got sick of how terrible they were.

also, i like how so many people thought we were just an acoustic screamo band for forever. those are really the only 4 acoustic songs we ever did, we wrote/recorded them in a couple of hours just out of boredom, yet people seem to enjoy those more than anything else. those acoustic songs were junk, i wish people would realize that.

tyrannobear 03-17-2008 08:31 PM

bu-bumpin' it
are you guys going on tour with men as trees this summer?
They're making a few stops by us, so we're gonna try to jump on a show with them and Cassettes.

alliteration 03-18-2008 12:05 PM

we talk about it with them a lot, but everytime i seriously bring it up, they just skirt the issue, so i assume its a no-go. i don't think i could anyhow, i have work and everything, and to be honest, ariadne's thread just isn't serious enough to really even be a band, let alone tour.

bardonodude 04-01-2008 03:20 PM

man i didnt realize these guys had so many releases in the works right now.

alliteration 04-01-2008 08:44 PM

ha. the ep has been recorded, and it will be out never. the compilation will come out sometime in the future, i have no idea on that. we are getting there on working on the split with pinball (who just called it quits). so really we just have to write for our lp (the 7" isn't going to happen, so i should just cross that off) and then we are calling it quits as well. neato.

tyrannobear 04-01-2008 11:25 PM

don't call it quits! keep the dream alive!
up tha punx!

bardonodude 04-02-2008 08:34 PM

what is taking so long on the ep? Sucks that you guys are gonna call it quits =(

alliteration 04-02-2008 09:31 PM

its just artwork. obviously the ep is all done musically and everything, we just have no drive to finish the stupid thing, so we've just been sitting on it, really. if anyone wants to design some kickass artwork for it, feel free to do so. we have some artwork done, but who knows whats going to happen with it.

and i had this big long thing written up about whats happening with us, but i'm not really that comfortable sharing all of that online, so i will say this: we have never been a serious band and we never will be. we've never had a real lineup, its just been us two hanging out every now and then and writing stuff. we don't ever practice, we don't write that much any more, and we really don't care about playing shows really at all. we're not getting any younger, i am moving soon and evan is still in school and it would be stupid to take something more serious than it actually is.

xcult_classicx 04-02-2008 11:41 PM

are you interested in a close-up photo in of a filipina chick or a picture of a screamo kid in the woods right next to a shedding tree and an abandoned tank?

bardonodude 04-12-2008 09:51 PM

ive been really digging la naissance a lot lately. Such a pretty album

xcult_classicx 07-14-2008 06:38 PM

Rip 2008 :(

bardonodude 07-14-2008 11:24 PM

:(, are you guys really thinking of doing something Flamenco Jazz like now?

xcult_classicx 07-15-2008 06:33 AM

i seriously enjoyed La Naissance, btw.

bardonodude 07-15-2008 01:35 PM

I enjoyed La Naissance as well, Uncle Tony is still awesome as well, I really like your guitar and your dual vocals. Im sure it does suck not being able to play shows.

xcassiusx 07-17-2008 10:29 PM

I really enjoyed the La Naissance EP. You guys overall did great at what you did. You played riffs that were strong and passionate, and had a great bass presence in your songs. I'm happy to hear there will at least be one more thing released in the future. R.I.P.

nothing sucks more than a good band that rarely plays. AT was really solid.

alliteration 07-18-2008 06:45 AM

thanks a lot guys, its always nice to hear that some people listened and enjoyed it. and Francis, we will contribute something to your comp. just because you're so cool.

xcult_classicx 07-18-2008 07:04 AM

i'm stoked to hear new AT stuff.

bardonodude 07-18-2008 09:28 AM

I want to hear more folk acoustic stuff haha ;), Im just saying that to piss you off ben.

xcult_classicx 07-18-2008 09:42 AM

i still want to hear that fast AT stuff.

bardonodude 07-21-2008 01:40 PM

on a serious note, did you guys do anymore orchestral stuff with your songs? I would still like to hear them.

Trauma 10-24-2008 08:44 PM

Bump.
Listen to La Naissance.

bardonodude 10-25-2008 12:09 AM
