Analphabetapolothology is genius, so is Little League, and Oh Messy Life and every other song they've done. Cap'n Jazz<3

This is my third thread on them =)

CAPTAIN CAVEMAN 04-11-2007 10:42 PM

Haha, I get it. "Emo cat is emoooo", sorta like "Long cat is loooooong".

sleepy jack 04-11-2007 10:45 PM

Ah man, me too.

We Are Scientists less so, even though they're "officially" not.

Ludicrous Speed 05-27-2010 10:40 AM

I really, really, really like Cap'n Jazz.

I'm surprised people here actually know what "emo" is.
Most forums are full of people that say stuff like "BLESSTHEFALL IS SOOO EMO!"
Kind of refreshing.

bro blessthefall is emo.

what are you talking about?

radioburning 06-10-2010 08:35 AM

a, b, c, d, e, f, g, h, i, j, k... lost

I'm always a little touched and a little "This is ridiculous" when that shows up. This is true of their lyrics in general, but it's kind of cool when that happens. Great stuff.

radioburning 06-14-2010 08:03 AM

Looks like I'm getting back to school just in time for the LA show. Gnar.

SeymourGreenspoon 06-16-2010 08:05 PM

I hate this song just because of the kitty kitty cat ****. Seriously, way to go ruining a brilliant song

I actually can feel you on that. A bit like what I'd said before about the "alphabet" line: I feel like there's a lot of emphasis on sound rather than content in the lyrics, so there's usually a clever takeaway line ("I'm dying to tell you I'm dying," "If we stand for long enough, the sun will move around us," the skinny-neck hex bit,) amid a lot of goofyness. Sometimes I'm into it and sometimes I'm not.

caP'n Jazz were sort of purposefully immature most of the time. The whole 'kitty kitty cat' thing is just to give the audience something chant along. If you're really expecting them to remain highbrow for an entire song, caP'n Jazz isn't your music.

Fair enough. They were a bunch of kids, after all. I'll be "kitty cat"-ing at the show in August for sure.

really? this is one of my favorite bits of the album, makes me laugh

GravitySlips 07-10-2010 07:07 AM

man I haven't listened to this band in about 4 years... they had some brilliant songs, Scary Kids Scaring Kids being my favourite.

radioburning 09-24-2010 01:43 PM

Saw these guys a couple weeks ago; great show. My girlfriend was mildly traumatized because Tim dropped the mic stand on her head and she lost her shoes and belt in the pit, where she didn't intend to be.
Tim still has a child's vocal range, and Mike kills on the drums.

Anyone else see a reunion show?

clutnuckle 09-24-2010 03:49 PM

Listening to Analphabetapolothology makes me realize how much caP'n Jazz defines my teenage years. I'm going to be listening to these guys in my 50's, no doubt.
