Why? It describes the mixture between power violence and emo. I don't see a problem with describing that mix with this term.

lol, In/Humanity who are pretty much the "emo violence" band coined the term AS A JOKE and if the quintessential band thinks the genre is a JOKE then sorry I'm not going to take it seriously.

It can be, but most punk can be called rock too, so I don't see your point. Emo violence just narrows down the description and gives us a more accurate view of the band if we are recommending them, or asking for recommendations of that sound.

I listen to music because I like music and I don't give a **** about what the band says. It doesn't matter because tons of bands are pretentious as **** and are all like, "genre names are lame blah blah blah." Its a bunch of **** because genre names are helpful for people like us who listen to tons of different kinds of music and don't want a band that sounds exactly like another band.

that would be true. except for the fact that "emo-violence" is such an idiotic and marginal term that utilizing it is pretty much useless. myself, and pretty much everyone else included would get the same picture if you said jeromes dream was emo-violence or screamo. so at this point, you really just look laughable.

hell, the term "emo" itself is laughably stupid, since its really just an aspect of hardcore punk. its even more entertaining to see you break down another genre within another genre within another genre. i hope in the future one day we have genre titles to describe every single irregularity in the whole entire world, not just music.
