wHO likes TOOL?
Maynard had this to say in the most recent RS:
"The emo ****'s just a backlash to raprock. It's the same cookie-cutter crap. It's music written by frat douche bags for frat douche bags to give roofies to unsuspecting girls before the date-rape ensues. 'Oh I'm sensitive. I feel. Here have a Roofie Coolata.'" I only wanted to post this to see the TOOL backlash but im sure we can turn it into a discussion. I don't disagree with him but im sure at least Crowquill will. I saw a post the other day with MCR (i know, i know, "their not emo!"...save it) and the lead singer was doign that faux scream "im out of control thing" and his bandmates were supposed to be "holding him back" but they couldn't have looked more bored. So how much longer do I have to hear this **** on the radio do you think?

Maynard has a point. One that I dont disagree with. But I think he doesnt really need an opinion about Emo..

I should have worded it better..sorry.
What I meant was..Maynard wrote a song about..well the song Hooker with a Penis..was about selling out...and how well..here are the lyrics I met a boy wearing Vans 501s and a Dope Beastie t nipple rings and New tattoos that claimed that he Was OGT From '92 The first EP. And in between Sips of Coke He told me that He thought We were sellin' out Layin' down Suckin' up To the man. Well now I've got some A dvice for you little buddy. Before you point the finger You should know that I'm the man And if I'm the man Then you're the man, and He's the man as well so you can Point that ****in' finger up your ass. All you know about me is what I've sold you, Dumb ****. I sold out long before you ever heard my name. I sold my soul to make a record, Dip ****, And you bought one. So I've got some Advice for you, little buddy. Before you point your finger You should know that I'm the man, If I'm the ****in' man Then you're the ****in' man as well So you can Point that ****in' finger up your ass. All you know about me is what I've sold you, Dumb ****. I sold out long before you ever heard my name. I sold my soul to make a record, Dip ****, And you bought one. All you read and Wear or see and Hear on TV Is a product Begging for your So in conclusion...why is he complaining..about something that has little to nothing to do with him and his.. Tool is my fav. band..but Maynard can be arrogant and often times hypocritical. Fat ass dirty Dollar So...Shut up and Buy my new record Send more money **** you, buddy.

Im aware of the lyrics. But I'm not aware of your point. Because of this song he should have an opinion on things? why?

Oh **** my point didnt get posted..weird...I swear I had a point..I rarely post without a point../smiling brightly..
My point was..Maynard has no room to talk..he can come across as arrogant and hyproctitical in his "anti-emo" bash...that song..is all about selling out and how it happens and yet he makes a point to make fun of those that have...

That song is about someone whos complaining about sell-outs when its clear that they have. Are you accusing TOOL of selling out? Im passing no judgement here, but if you are saying they have, just say why.
