I find Tool samey & boring also. I`ve listened to 3 albums and as far as I am concerned thats more than enough chances for me.
There have been other albums I don`t 'get' by other bands Kid A by Radiohead being an good example but it was never samey or boring and there were at least small things I could pick up on. I don`t get that with Tool , to me every song either has cliched sludgy rock riffs , either incoherent mumbling or high pitched wailing , throw in a few angsty lyrics and dress it up into some overelaborate packaging with some pretentious & angsty videos and you have Tool.
I can understand the appeal of Tool (Your average metal kid one step up from Limp Bizkit , who gets a hard on thinking that they`re now listening to 'intelligent' music) but I will never ever see what is so great about this band.
