Stop using big words if you don't understand what they mean. Sensationalism has nothing to do with how well something sells.

Combining two genre's is not sensationalistic. Jazz and screamo aren't really that popular of genres. If they wanted to make money they'd right simple shit 4/4 rock.

I know exactly what it means, when Hollywood puts explosions in movies that's sensationalism; it's resorting to causing sensation to get a reaction, and this band needs their screamo persona to get attention. If they only did jazz, I probably never would hav heard of them, but that doesn't mean bands should compromise their artistic integrity just to get their name out there.

What have they comprimised? They aren't that popular. Maybe they like playing what they. This band is very original.

And why should one band stick to one genre?

If you are a fan of hardcore and jazz why not start a band using influences from both?
I don`t see you calling Captain Beefheart sensationalist for mixing blues & jazz influences.

I don`t see hundreds of bands clogging up the charts full of this stuff so how is it being sensationalist?

Plus you seem to have overlooked the fact that they split up so I don`t see them shifting millions of albums to a mainstream audience in a hurry.

yes, but back to my original point, there jazz stuff is way way better than their screamo stuff, and while the jazz has a nice easy flow to it, the screamo sounds really forced and unnatural. IMO

LOLOLOL what in gods name are you talking about. The band played venues about the size of someones room and it didn't sell out. They're not popular and never were. They dug real screamo and jazz and they played both. Are you trying to imply a band who plays 2 unpopular sounds is selling out? Innnteressttinnggg

so I just found these dudes split with necktie party on my computer, and I think I just unintentionally found their best material mixed with another awesome band, Necktie Party, time for a search binge.

I found a t-shirt of theirs at this crappy store right beside wal-mart on the on sale rack for 3 bucks. Which as you might suspect is pretty awesome.
