They were probaly the first post-emo band I ever listened to, except I had no idea what post-emo was at the time and I didn't care for it.

But listening now, its reallly sick.

I saw Joan of Arc and Owen last night. Dudes from cap n jazz and american football in JOA.

Wasn't Ben Gibbard in this band?

I've overlooked them for way too long. LP is a good as it's ever been even if I do like the indie emo I've found as of late a whole lot more.

Lp is alright, I still like Kolya, Bells On Trike, and Hobis more.

One of my favorite albums ever; that said, I only realize now that they had an EP out I've never heard. Would someone mind upping it?

American Football-LP. I love this album, but I am surprised at the POST-EMO tag. To me it just sounds like American Indie music.

Their s/t is wonderful. Great 'sleeping music', whatever the hell that means.

"Stay Home" is one of the most crushingly beautiful songs I have ever heard. Their self-titled is in a league of its own, so very very emotive yet restrained...

"That's life - So social..."

I love this album, and pretty much everything Mike Kinsella is involved with, Never Meant is my favorite off the LP, but this is the album got me interested in emo.

I was just curious what anyone else thinks of this band. i picked up the cd because i'm a big fan of cap'n jazz and saw that the drummer went on to this band. i totally enjoy this cd. anything?

It's an excellent album. It's way better then all of Mike Kinsella's following working (mostly Owen, which is literally just American Football without the cool instrumentation. It has it's moments though.) I prefer Joan of Arc and Tim Kinsella in general though. Still, it's a really beautiful album. Never Meant is one of my favorite songs.

Never Meant is just beautiful. You mentioned the Cap'n Jazz link, but I think they're ten times better.

The whole album leaves me speechless, particularly "Never Meant", "For Sure." and "Stay Home"... I consider it to be one of the best albums of the 90's, as it's essentially everything brilliant about caP'n Jazz refined and matured (and don't get me wrong - the immaturity of caP'n Jazz is kind of what makes them so great, but they were even better when Mike became reserved and melodic).

The EP is also really good, too. "Five Silent Miles" is brilliant, among their best work.

Overrated. That being said I like it just fine (honestly is my favorite song) but the sound was done better and it was done earlier. Anything Kinsella people just flock to cum all over it.

well you should hook me up with some links of some stuff with this sound. cause i've really been into nineties emo lately.

Agreed. If I can get more music that's of the likes of this, I'd be a very happy camper.

I'm not sure about post-emo, I'd say more just 'Really influential emo musicians in an indie math band with strong emo influences'.

Starting to love this band.

I'm listening to their self-titled right now, and it's leaving a good first impression on me. I may download their EP later.

The EP has their best song, Letters and Packages, get on dat **** man!

My introduction to 'Emo', and one of my favourite records ever. Never Meant and But the Regrets are 10/10.
