to Ethan: Hell yeah. I love lyrics like that
to Snickers: It all depends on the area you live in. You might have gotten lucky. Where me and Adam (beat yr own kid) live, it's festering with scene kids into the latest "heavy" band. The JonBenet rip off #12, who rip off real grind. A mimic or a "mimic" makes for some piss poor music.

Now The #12, I agree with you on that.
I don't really see The Jonbenet ripping a lot of **** off #12 though, I just think that's the way screamo has influenced metal and vice-versa. It doesn't mean it's part of the "scene" just because genres mingle. P.S. I never knew you were on SMN. |

I can hear how they would sound like #12. They're lame none the less.
SMN FTW

Number 12 has the most screamo influences of any grind/metal band I listen too. The scene where I live isn't into them because they don't have those easy listening vocals breaking up the heavy spots. Instead they use real screamo dynamics (at least in some songs), which really makes them stand out to me.
The Jonbenet is more of a straight up screamy hardcore/metal band to me. It's not easy to draw parallels, seeing as how their approaches to song construction aren't at all alike. |

I can just see the guys in the band sitting around listening to #12 going "yeah, let's do it like that so we can be like #12, and let's take that part out cause it's not #12ish enough".
Wait. No I can't.

I've heard 2 songs by the JonBenet. And both of them took the vocal dynamic that #12 had. the singsong/half scream and the full on high scream.
Musically, you're right, there isn't much similarity of the guitar parts. I still see/hear the similarity however.
