Raein

I never really like newer emo but after checking out a lot of your recommendations I like it a lot. That was really good. They get added to my bands I need to check out more of.
|
Awesome band.

Dangit, there's far too many good bands breaking up.
|
I checked out their album that Starving Artless uploaded (cheers man!), and it was really f'ucking good. Then I managed to get hold of some La Quiete since they're related by some member, and that was even better! I'm really digging this stuff just now, the way the best screamo bands manage chaos in such an artistic and expressive way is really impressive to me.
Raein - Il n'y Pas de Orchestre La Quiete - La Fine Non e La Fine Those are the two albums I've listened to, do either of these bands have any others? And can someone recommend some similar s'hit to this? |
My Suggestions:
Raein - get their split w/ Daitro. La Quiete - tenpeun 01-05 (all their songs from 2001-2005 that were on their many splits, and compilations) Other releases: La Quiete 7" (2006 EP during their east coast U.S. tour) Raein - split w/ Phoenix Bodies Raein - split w/ Welcome The Plague Year Raein - split w/ Funeral Diner Raein - self titled ^ If you need ANY release by La Quiete or Raein, I can help you out. Other similar Bands: Daïtro (also often spelt "Daitro") Cease Upon The Capitol Louise Cyphre Funeral Diner Sed Non Satiata I'm pretty sure Daitro will definitely be what you're looking for if you're looking for. |
I enjoy. Lots.

im debating whether or not I should go to the summer camp show.
|
ew native is playing that. they have a booking agent, they're not cool haha
|
I saw Native with Tera Melos when they came through here. I really don't care for Native recorded, but live they sound really good. They are on Sargent House, so obviously they have a booking agent because I'm fairly certain all of their bands do. I'm just surprised they're that popular.
|
yeah ha that's why I'm not sure, I really know nothing about any of the other bands save native, and I never liked them. I've already seen raein live at **** mountain and the guesthouse. I'll have to see what else is going on that night.

to ben, yeah they were pretty fun live when i saw them too with victor fix the sun. their performance made me buy their vinyl but yeah im surprised they're that popular now too. They toured with la dispute haha. |
Native talks about being DIY but has a booking agent? Sad. I'm from their neck of the woods, and my girlfriend knows all of them and has a tattoo for them. I could never really get into them. I kinda don't see what the hype is about. They are alright live.

Yeah. Native and pretty much all the Grand Rapids bands are pretty popular. They seem to be quite popular with kids who are into the DIY hardcore scene, but I really don't think any of them are DIY whatsoever. Its pretty obvious when you look at it. When I went to the Comadre show in GR, they played with La Dispute and Native and it was so full I couldn't even get in the door, there was at least a few hundred kids there, the place was absolutely packed. In fact, I was at Dudefest 07, and the crowd at the Comadre show here reminded me of Dudefest. Not to mention, almost all the kids there were maybe 15-16 and dressed like douchebags to the max. So yeah, there is absolutely no DIY element to any of those bands, outside of Comadre. |

haha yeah , i remember when i first saw how native was just, i was thinking "seriously?" they wore like sweatbands and typical "harcdcore" fashion fare. |
