Default There is no such thing as Present Day emo

You can't just make up stuff like "present day emo". Present day emo means real emo that's in the present day. There is such a thing as contemporary pop which basically means present day pop. You could associate this with many bands which I will not name for argument sake.

p.s. I just like being an *******/jerk cause its fun

There is no such thing as present day emo, because emo was a scene. It was a movement. Things have moved already. It's over. Don't you kids realize that these things were happening like 20 years ago?

The way I see it, I am an 18 year old kid in the suburbs. If I have heard of a musical genre, it's already on it's way out.

emo is emo, its no different now then it was 30 years ago. Love will always have the same affects on you. no matter what, whether good or bad, its the same love.

If you are insinuating that any love song is "emo", you're dumb. I'm not replying to anything else you say.

i disagree. emo is about emotion, but not every emo song is about love. there are plenty of others to write about

If that's your definition of Emo then I suggest you get albums by backstreet boys and N'sync. Like I posted earlier before, these bands have plenty of love and emotional lyrics. Why don't you try britney spears because some of her songs are emotional so she must be emo too right?

The people that classify themselves as emo and label it as emotional are usually poseurs that are trying to find a way to be different than others. They think its cooler to be different while they are just the same as everyone else

Duly noted but I suggest you listen to the Backstreet boy lyrics. They have some metaphores and lyrics that show what the girl is doing to them. Plus many emo bands don't use any metaphores so your theory on what's emo could be messed up. Go to other posts by me that describe emo they really give a clear understanding of emo

Wink

um, this is what i think...
People say i listen to a lot of "emo" music like Fall Out boy, but their lyrics are actually true and not all about love. I don't even think Fall out boy is "emo", they are pop punk, rock, or alternative rock.
My opinion on emo is simple this...
it is stupid as hell
"Oh! my boyfriend/girlfriend broke up with me! I NEED 2 DIE! bc no1 cares about me! my parents buy me all these things and love me unconditionally but i know they hate me! BLAH BLAH BLAH!"
STFU. people are starving in other countries and u are worried about a relationship that went on for lik 2 weeks. And u claimed u loved each other and u broke up and u are only lik 2 years old. They are all 2 pussy to kill themselves do they dress dark to seem lik they are dead. And no1 really cuts themselves anymore cuz they are too scared. So there is no such thing as emo. it is called scene i believe. They think they r different wen they obviously look, act, talk, walk the same way. So STFU, and get an education and grow the **** up!
Ok im done
P.S. Sorry this is so long, and im not talking to any1 specifically
