Hes trying to argue that they're emo, therefore its on topic. I don't think this thread should be deleted, its one of the more interesting topics in the emo/hardcore forum recently and we need more of those. Urban is just trying to make a smart ass remark to boost his e-ego.

If you gave up in this thread why do you bother posting? Razors answered you're question all you've done in here now is make stuipd comments that really have nothing to do with the topic whatsoever. Its annoying some of us actually wanna debate this topic with Don.

The question was if you can say that other genres can change in another thread (That was about black sabbath) why not emo?

Perfectly valid in this thread , not that i`d expect you to give a proper answer

Emo is emotionally driven hardcore, you can't really change the entire original definition of the genre especially when its still going around today. All these faux-emo bands fit perfectly into another genre.

You did , in the other thread.

Remember what you said 'Black Sabbath are no longer metal because metal has moved on'.

I ask again , if you can say that about metal why can`t the same be said of emo?

sleepy jack 03-10-2006 02:59 PM

Anberlin and Bayside on all their clones all fit into pop-rock perfectly. It can't because thats blantly ignoring bands like circle takes the square and tons of others who still play emotionally driven hardcore. Its still around, thats why.

Urban Hat€monger ? 03-10-2006 03:04 PM

It`s not ignoring them , you just simply stick the whole lot under emo & invent more sub genres.Thats what you do anyway

sleepy jack 03-10-2006 03:06 PM

Yeah, cause Anberlin are emo now, so i'm going shove all the real emo bands into a corner and call them alternative oldies core instead of trying to educate people. Because the almight urban hatemonger thinks I should.
