and explosions-in-my-pants don't totally ruin the chance to educate someone by listing pop-punk bands and calling them emo.

I wasn't trying to, but the asked for real emo and therefore they get real emo. Its nice to educate people about music instead of sending them off ignorant and thinking hawthorne heights is emo.
