DeadPoetic/Silverstien
I need help in finding out wether DeadPoetic and Silverstien are Emo or not, i think they are more hardcore, but i dunno .....
|
Silverstien id say is screamo for sure...
Deadpoetic sounds emo, they arent really that hardcore, but i dunno if their lyrics are emo.... |
Well new silverstein is screamo but their first album Summers Stellar Gaze is definatley emo...thank you canada!!!!!! As for DP yea I dont think anything that comes out of Tooth and Nail can be called hardcore I mean Slow Coming Day,238,Further Seems Forever,The Juliana Theory, Pedro the Lions, ( early stuff) and on and on but never a hardcore band. Either way both bands are supercal....eh hell with it they both kick ass
|
juliana theory is definitely not emo. sry bud. but silverstein and DP are ****in awesome

Wouldn't classify them as emo or screamo. Listen to Saetia they're real screamo.
If I had to classify them in a genre it would probably be MTV emo. |
so lemme get this straight. If a band has any sort of emotional lyrics but somehow makes it somewhere and doesn't change their music style then they are mtv sellout emo? Since when is the only music underground sh*t? You guys are so damn hypocrtitical. And Silverstien rules and will probably never ever have MTV playtime.

Its my opinion that yes they are MTV emo. This doesn't mean that I feel every band on MTV sucks. I like the Promise Ring, Sparta, and the Mars volta which have all been on MTV. I'm sorry if I offended you by posting an opinion, but this doesn't mean you can generalize. |
My bad dude, but MTV emo isn't even emo, its like...soft rock.
|
I'm of the opinion that there is no such thing as the genre "emo". Once upon a time, there was. Now the closest thing you can have would be Saves the Day. Emo, is... a state of mind? I'm trying not to delve too deeply into hyperbole. Many many bands have emo songs, put off an emo vibe. Even some nu-metal like chevelle, or some hardcore, like Tear Us Apart. I would say both of the bands you asked about indeed do have emo songs, and that emo vibe. That's just my two cents.

true emo is pretty much gone you have to go under ground to find any good emo played how it was ment to be played but DP is singing to god so if you want to get tech. their not emo. and silverstein i would say post-core
