I agree, there are alot of better, or sadder emo songs out there. You know what you guys should do sometime, go on myspace or just google or something and search up random bands, even like local bands and stuff, you'll be surprised what you can find.... And alot of it is really good too.
I can't think of a really sad emo song right now, I'm sick with the flu and can't think, and just about the most depressing song I could think about is Helena by MCR, which is TOTALLY LAME when it comes to the saddest emo song ever, lol, thats how sick I am, wow, anyways...

MCR isn't even emo. I hear Bleed The Dream and A Thorn For Every Heart mentioned constantly. Besides, Saves The Day is at least fun music. All Bleed The Dream and A Thorn For Every Heart do is rip off all the other scenester rock bands.

Its hard for some people to realize that bands being part of a certain genre may perhaps sound alike. I'm not a music expert but in my opinion there are more bands involved in Emo, Screamo, Hardcore, Progressive, Etc.. than there were back in the 80's during that rock era, with that being said, seeing as how there are so many bands making music its hard to differentiate your music with other bands' music. You could either look at it that way or the fact that, bands in a certain genre may well sound alike, rather similar, course there are always minor differences. And yes, myspace is a good place to find bands |

Bleed The Dream and A Thorn For Every Heart aren't emo, I realize bands in the same genre sound the same, but its pathetic when they completely rip each other off. Using the same boring metaphors and cliches using the same vocal styling and doing nothing unique to set themselves apart. Circle Takes The Square and Saetia are both screamo, are they ripping eachother off and sounding like the same band? Nope.
Now everyone who put Ohio Is For Lovers down as the saddest emo song read these. Emo Education Thread Zealious's Screamo Education Thread Fourfa |

I've listened to enough of both of those bands to conclude that they sound nothing alike, although im not too sure if i just mislead you to believe that. It's just my opinion, whether they belong to the same genre or not, btd leans more towards alternative or rock, while atfeh leans more towards emo/screamo, just my opinion. Question - the hell is indie? i never fully understood what exactly made that genre its own genre. |
