i just realized..i find it funny that we have this thread. i mean, originally, emo wasnt supposed to be sad at all. it was supposed to carry deeper meaning and be more powerful in that sense.
|
Still, they can impart a feeling of sadness on the listener. Most emo lyrics were so personal that the vocalists would break down into deep emotional fits, so this thread works, aside from most of the songs being from pop bands and indie groups.

Very true. You bring up a good point there.

It does have great meaning, just because you might cry when you listen to it doesn't make it lose it's originality or lose its "power". Crying or tears is the effect of the "power", in a sense.
I don't know, I'm rambling off, pay no attention to me... |
I'm in no way bashing everyones music preference or saddest emo song opinions, but i couldn't help but notice that most of these *saddest emo songs* are from the same mainstream bands i always hear about. There are a LOT more bands out there with meaningful songs. Take Bleed the Dream for instance. If i was to choose the saddest by them it would be Jack and White... it's hard to find, unfortunately.
Let's not forget about A Thorn For Every Heart either, Things arent so beautiful now (part 2!!!) will for sure hit you deep. |
