Minor Threat
Sick Of It All
Paint It Black
Gorrila Biscuits
Miles Away
Another Breath
Verse
Go It Alone

But Miles Away are basically a poor mans version of carry on.

True, but I never got the chance to see Carry On (did they ever leave the US?) and Miles Away make the trip over to the UK  They are one of the few modern hardcore bands that I still listen to.

Ah ok then, not seeing a band live wouldn't bother me to much. Miles Away are good though, even if they're a poor mans Carry On.

hardcore music is all about the shows! about the community, about the shared beliefs, about the passion :)

now heres what its all about, turn it up the audience was chanting the entire song and at the end everyone was up on stage :) ...and diving off

Have Heart - Watch Me Rise @ Chain Reaction

replace [dot] with a period (forums not letting me post links :p)

if you havent heard the actual song before listen to "watch me rise" by have heart then watch it again...lol watching this videos gives me the chills remembering that show, you could just feel how intense it was just standing there..

ooh and heres an interview with the lead singer Patrick flynn.. thats why those guy is amazing, gives me hope good meaningful hardcore is still around :)

I'd rather listen to Paint It Black. Modern SxE hardcore doesn't do it for me.

My favorite hardcore band is The Carpenters.

I will post a bunch in a bit, try not to repeat, and if you post a band that is not hardcore it will be deleted(if I can, if not it will be noted as not being real hardcore)

Saetia, Instil, You&I, City of Caterpillar, Songs of Zarathustra, Orchid!, Jerome's Dream, Page99, Forstella Ford, Neil Perry, Usurp Synapse, Joshua Fit for Battle, Portrait, DeadSeraphim, A Trillion Barnacle Lapse, Linus, Red Scare, Reversal of Man, Makara, Racebannon, Hot Cross, Lickgoldensky, This Ship Will Sink, Melt Banana (Japan), Envy (Japan), Welcome the Plague Year, Anodyne, Malady, The Assistant, Mannequin, A Day's Refrain, Transistor Transistor, The Wolves, Ampere, and Bucket Full of Teeth....all good, all the time

Very few if any of those are hardcore

There is No happy here 01-27-2009 12:44 PM

they're more early 90's hardcore, not todays standards hardcore wise

Sneer 01-27-2009 12:53 PM

The majority are screamo. Yes screamo is an offshoot of Emo which originated from hardcore but if the point of this thread is to name your favourite band that plays music derivitive from hardcore punk it would be far too broad a topic.
